This CF2IDE-adapter makes it possible to use one or two Compact Flash (CF) memory cards as normal hard disk(s). Replace a "normal" hard disk by a cheap, energy efficient and quiet Solid State Disk (SSD) without moving parts.
Type: Dual Compact Flash to IDE adapter
Replaces: 2.5" ATA hard disk in laptop, mini-ITX systeem or thin client
Interface: 44 pins IDE male
Compatible: 2.5" laptop ATA IDE disk
Compatible: CF Type I and Type II
Compatible: DMA-mode
Suitable for: Each OS, also "embedded"
Jumper: Master/Slave-selection
Power supply: This adapter does not require a separate power supply (power is provided by the 44-pins connection).
Also available: Matching 44 pins mini-IDE cable, available in various lengths.
Other information: The adapter is bootable and can be connected to the normal hard disk connector. Do not hot-plug (just like a regular hard disk). The adapter can be used with 1 or 2 CF-cards. These are (just like normal hard drives) detected as Master and Slave. Note that in many laptops the CDrom-drive is connected to the same IDE-port as the hard disk. In that case it is not possible to replace 1 hard drive by 2 CD-cards. Thin clients do not have this limitation.
Mount bracket
This unique adapter is designed to replace an IDE hard drive directly. It includes screw-holes in the metal bracket, which can be used from the side, top or bottom.
